As an image product in the new media era, micro documentary is a derivative of traditional
documentary under the new media technology and communication platform. According to the
46th statistical report on China's Internet development issued by China Internet Network
Information Center in September 2020:
"By June 2020, the number of online video (including short video) users in China had reached
880 million, an increase of 37.77 million over March 2020, accounting for 94.5% of the total
Internet users. Among them, the number of short video users was 818 million, an increase of
44.61 million over March 2020, accounting for 87.0% of the total Internet users.".[6]
It can be seen that in the context of new media, short, flat and fast micro images are
increasingly shaping the tendency of the public to receive visual information.
In essence, micro documentary is also a documentary, which is a new form of documentary
developed under the Internet environment.
By studying the literature and periodicals on micro documentaries and watching a large
number of excellent micro documentaries, I have qualitatively improved the concept,
narration, creation and dissemination of micro documentaries, and thus shot and produced my
graduation project guardian. Through literature research and case analysis, this paper
summarizes the preparation, recording content, audio-visual language, post production and
presentation of personal works, and tries to enrich the current creation technology of micro
documentary through this research.
This paper will elaborate the research and creation process of the micro documentary
guardian from four parts. The first part analyzes and summarizes the research background of
documentary and micro documentary at home and abroad, and the second part introduces the
creation process of documentary; From the perspective of audio-visual language, the third part
expounds the actual operation of documentary in the creative process from the aspects of film
shooting technology, shooting composition, lens operation, post editing and color matching,
etc; The fourth part summarizes the innovation, deficiency and improvement methods of the
micro documentary creation.
